2014 Fall Favorites

Today marks the first day of Fall.  To celebrate I've picked some of my favorite items for the season.  To me Fall means colder temperatures, bonfires, football games, pumpkin patches, hiking trails, apple cider, vegetarian chili, and all my favorite clothes.

I love getting to pull out my favorite boots and jackets.  With the cooler temperatures it's the perfect time to start layering.  I always feel like plaid button-downs are a staple, and they work perfectly with a vest and faux fur infinity scarf.  My hands down favorite thing to wear is a cape/ poncho with skinny jeans and boots.  This is my go to item, and I love the versatility of the Mango cape featured.  Although my favorite shoes are boots I'm majorly lusting over these Rachel Roy ankle-strapped heels.  What are your favorite fall pieces/ trends?

2014 Spring Wishlist

Spring Wishlist

Spring Wishlist by amyhfaust

Here's an overview of some items I'm currently craving.  As the temperatures start warming up I can't help but get excited to pull out some of my old favorites, and to hopefully add some new pieces to my wardrobe as well.  Feminine skirts, dresses, and accessories are always on my list, but I plan on adding some more casual items this season as well.  Distressed denim will definitely be added to my wardrobe.  Whether it's in full length jeans, cropped jeans, shorts, or all above I feel like this is something I will live in this season.  Scalloped shorts also keep catching my eye.  Last year I kept seeing the crocheted and lace shorts, but this year my prediction is that the scalloped shorts will be more on trend.   I also think pastels will be my favorite colors of the season which is why I added the pale pink watch and the adorable mint green cross-body bag.  The bow on the front of the bag makes a girly bag even more so, and I love it!

Of course, there's always a need for the classic staples like a good trench coat, handbag, pair of heels, and a blazer.  For fun I added an geometric print skirt, tinted mirrored sunglasses, and a ring that could be worn everyday.  What are you currently craving?  Are there any trends that you're lusting over?

Casual Friday

Jacket: Gap Utility Jacket (old, similar here), Top: Watch Closely Blouse from Red Dress Boutique (sold out in white, red can be found here), Jeans: Joe's Jeans (similar here), Shoes: Sperry Harlow Wedge Bootie, Purse: Tory Burch Amanda Round Crossbody, Watch: Michael Kors Round Watch, Golden, Necklaces: (Both were gifts. The horseshoe necklace was from Chartreuse Boutique and the other was from The Limited) Lips: e.l.f Studio Matte Lip Color (Rich Red)

This Friday we went to Ascension's Fish Fry with friends.  It was finally starting to warm up so it was a welcomed change to be able to throw on a light weight jacket instead of a winter coat.  I kept things simple with just a white blouse and jeans . . . a classic look.

I started this fashion blog because I wanted a fun hobby to keep me from sitting in front of the tv at night.  Thankfully, I have my husband's support so he agreed to take some photos for me.  I felt goofy taking pics, but what's a fashion blog if you don't share your fashion.
